In July 2026, Haymarket Foundation successfully achieved accreditation against the QIC Health and Community Services Standards 8th Edition through Quality Innovation Performance Limited (QIP). This accreditation provides independent confirmation that our governance, quality, safety and service delivery systems meet nationally recognised standards.

The achievement followed a significant body of work to transition from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) EQuIP accreditation framework to a model better aligned with community services. As Haymarket’s services have evolved to focus on homelessness, housing, alcohol and other drugs, mental health and community support, the QIC standards offered a stronger fit for our person-centred and recovery-oriented approach.

The transition involved reviewing policies and procedures, strengthening governance and risk management systems, improving quality and incident monitoring, and engaging staff, clients and stakeholders in continuous improvement activities.

The accreditation assessment recognised Haymarket’s strong governance, commitment to quality improvement, trauma-informed practice, and the respectful, person-centred support provided to clients across our services.

While accreditation is an important milestone, it is also part of an ongoing commitment to learning, improvement and delivering high-quality services for people experiencing homelessness and complex disadvantage.
