The Bourke Street Program (BSP) continues to be a cornerstone of the Haymarket Foundation’s commitment to long-term recovery and reintegration.

Designed to build on the progress made in short-term rehabilitation, BSP is an abstinence-based residential program that provides men with a structured, supportive environment to stabilise, grow, and reconnect with their families and communities. The program focuses on helping participants develop life skills, pursue education and employment and rebuild relationships, all while maintaining a strong foundation in recovery.

The program has maintained full occupancy across its 19 beds for several months, with a growing number of graduations and strong outcomes in employment and education.

  • Three men are celebrating graduation dinners this week
  • Four residents in the last stages of the program are working full-time, and five more are in part-time employment
  • Three participants are currently enrolled in TAFE, with another three preparing to begin studies next year.

These milestones reflect the program’s impact in supporting men to rebuild their lives with purpose and stability.
