A 66-year-old former academic who lost his sight and career, then slipped into homelessness for over a decade, finally received some good news.

The Haymarket Foundation’s Rapid Response team navigated the aged care system, securing a permanent home in a retirement community for over-55s, where he has been able to get holistic support with his daily living needs.

He has now reconnected with old colleagues and friends.
