More support for our GP practice

There’s been increasing support for the Haymarket Foundation’s medical practice focused on the health needs of people experiencing homelessness.

In 2022, a purpose-designed bulk-billing practice will open opposite Central Station.

In the meantime, face-to-face consultations at the Chippendale practice are ramping up.

The City of Sydney has awarded a three-year grant to help pay for the salary of a nurse. The nurse will support the doctor and the patients accessing care.

The grant is helping scale the social enterprise in its first years, allowing the service to reach financial viability earlier.

“We are so grateful to the City of Sydney for its support of this service – and its commitment to helping the most vulnerable who live and visit the area,” says the CEO of the Haymarket Foundation, Peter Valpiani.

The nurse’s salary is also being supported this financial year by legal firm Maddocks.

In addition, the Haymarket Foundation’s medical practice has been awarded a 2021 Commbank Staff Foundation Community Grant.

We will receive $10,000, with the money paying for all the furniture and equipment for two of the consultation rooms of the facility near Central.

Thanks to our local branch manager Diana Shekari who nominated us and to all the staff who participate in Workplace Giving.
